Document Scanning

The entire contents of a filing cabinet containing 20,000 documents can be scanned and burned onto a single CD, making scanning a space-saving technology and giving instant access to records via your PC.

At the Microfilm & Scanning Bureau we use hi-tech production scanners with multi-feed detection, Perfect Page scanning with i-thresholding technology to ensure the best quality digital reproduction of documentation; this can be done in both colour and bitonal. We use a variety of software packages to check and index the scanned images according to your requirements, ensuring the efficient retrieval of your records. Alternatively, we can scan documents in a format which can be integrated into a software application you are currently using.

Drawing Scanning

Large format scanning up to and above A0 size is done typically in tiff/pdf/jpeg formats at 300 dpi to ensure optimal image quality whilst maintaining acceptable file sizes. One CD will hold approximately 1,500 digital b & w raster images.

Slides

The Microfilm & Scanning Bureau scan colour and black & white projector slides into various formats as appropriate, i.e. tiff/pdf/jpeg.
